HYDERABAD: A 35-year-old woman and her six-year-old son died on the spot and two other family members suffered minor injuries after a speeding car in which they were travelling rammed a truck after the driver lost control as one of the tyres got burst in Kothur police limits on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as Swathi Reddy and her son Ruthwik Reddy, natives of Nagarkurnool. Two of their family members received injuries. The Sub inspector A Srisailam said that four family members were travelling by car from Saroornagar to Nagarkurnool on Wednesday evening. As the car reached Kothur cross roads on national highway, one of the tyres of car got burst and the driver lost his control over steering ramming the truck at the junction.

In the mishap, Swathi Reddy and her son who were sitting back seat, received serious head injuries and died on the spot. Police received information and visited place. Bodies were shifted to Shadnagar mortuary and shifted injured persons to nearby hospital for proper treatment.
