Punjab on the platter

HYDERABAD:It looks like Baishaki festive mood is already sinking in with Royal Reve Hotel, Secunderabad hosting Punjabi Food Festival at Lazeez Multi Cusine Restuarant. Welcomed by stewards in bright coloured salwar kameez, patiala kurta-pajama and bhangra beats, the vigour of Punjab syncs in with our vibes readily. The gastronomical journey of Amristar starts with lassi with some khoa chunks teasing the taste buds, followed by dahi kebabs for starters. Sarson ka Saag with Makki ki roti laced with a generous amount of butter brings in the Punjab element.

Do make some space in the tummy for Pindi Chhole with some onion rings and lemon wedges and Dal Makhani with cream overdose. The non-vegetarians can relish and rejoice their signature Punjabi dishes like Patiala Tariwala Gosht, Patiala Fish curry,  Achari Mutton, Saag Meat and more. Punjabi songs on the TV screen and food on the platter set the mood. The dairy-rich food must make us feel heavy until we make an eye contact with Punjab Pinni, Matka Kulfi, Phirnee and Gajar Ka Halwa. Priced at Rs 550 for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian for lunch and Rs 600 for dinner, the festival, a foodie’s delight, is on from April 6 to 15.
