HYDERABAD: The special teams of Cyberabad and Rachakonda commissionerates, who have been successful in bringing down the incidents of chain snatching to some extent by apprehending several gangs, have a major task ahead of them. After a brief lull, there has been a spate in chain snatching offences in Cyberabad and Rachakonda in the last two months. Striking after a gap of a week to 15 days, the offenders are targeting women mostly during the early hours of the day this time. The suspects have been involved in around nine offences of chain snatching.

The other gangs and individuals involved in chain snatching have already been apprehended and are in jail.”Responding to a query, the official said, “The suspects of the city based gang are yet to be identified.”
