HYDERABAD: The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) has denied hall tickets to five students seeking admission for PhD and B.Ed and told them to file RTI to know the reason for their rejection.

However, only three students, who hail from Kerala, have approached the administration seeking the reason for its denial. They have accused the varsity of witch hunting them for being politically active on the campus and participating in protests while pursuing their masters.

With just a day left for entrance examination scheduled for February 24, Abdul Jabbar has made several frantic calls to the proctor and controller of examination. Each redirecting him to the other.

“The only reason behind issuing a showcase notice in 2015 is for participating in a protest during elections. But I had defended my action and was let off without any punishment,” said Jabbar who graduated in 2016 from the varsity.  Meanwhile, as the students are not in the city and cannot submit individual representation to EFLU, the research scholars of the varsity have stepped in to aid them. The administration, however, has told students that they will not be issued admit cards and that the matter is non-negotiable.
