Telangana government announces Rs 45,000 crore plan for development of Hyderabad

The State government has announced an ambitious plan for spending Rs 15,000 crore every year for the development of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for three years.

HYDERABAD: The State government has announced an ambitious plan for spending Rs 15,000 crore every year for the development of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for three years.  “In the next three years, Rs 55,000 crore funds will be spent for the development of cities in the state. Out of which, Rs 45,000 crore alone will be spent in Hyderabad,” Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced here on Saturday.

At a review on improving infrastructure facilities and taking up of development programmes in various corporations across the State on Saturday, the Chief Minister said, “Every effort will be put in to make Hyderabad a real global city. We will spend Rs 45,000 crore in the next three years. We will take up ‘Focussing on urban Telangana’ programme on a mission mode,” he added.

“Special focus and attention is required to develop corporations in the state continuously during the next three years. Roadways, parks, tanks, drainage canals and other infrastructure works will be taken up.  Rs 55,000 crore will be allocated for this, out of which Rs 45,000 crore will be for Hyderabad and the rest for other cities,” the CM said.
