Telangana IT minister K T Rama Rao launches new facilities at Botanical Gardens

The newly-developed facilities at the Botanical Garden in Kothaguda were inaugurated by MAUD minister, KT Rama Rao on Wednesday.

HYDERABAD: The newly-developed facilities at the Botanical Garden in Kothaguda were inaugurated by MAUD minister, KT Rama Rao on Wednesday. Forest and Environment Minister Jogu Ramanna was also present.

The MAUD minister appreciated the efforts of the Telangana State Forest Deparment for completing the renovation of the 12-acre park within a short span of one year. He said that the State is committed towards the forest conservation, the safety of the environment and also increasing green cover in the city, especially at a time when major cities like Delhi have turned into hubs of pollution, he said.

Haritha Haaram is also another step in the same direction. Besides this, there are 185 lakes in Hyderabad and the cleaning process in 40 of them has already begun, informed the minister. The city is also moving to a more sustainable way of life, with the installation of four lakh LED bulbs, and 3300 MW of solar power, KT Rama Rao further said.
