HYDERABAD: A freelance photographer and graphic designer from Hyderabad, Sindhu Gadepalli will be exhibiting some of her paintings at the Berlin Art Week in September this year. ‘KUNST 2018’ is an international collective exhibition featuring works of different artists using a variety of media.

Having an inclination towards creative fields since childhood, Sindhu says that art and design happened to her because of her love for colour, expression and all things natural. Later on in college, while pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from EFLU, she realised that she had a good eye for photography and started pursuing it as a hobby.

Today, apart from being a graphic and web designer, Sindhu has developed a great deal of interest in portraits and street photography. She claims that her style is the natural street style, which has no artificial factors involved. She loves shooting outdoors.

In her latest series called ‘Plant People’, which consists of a series of 100 illustrations, she highlights the importance of plants and shows how people and nature coexist while emphasising the need for harmony between the two.

“The idea is to influence people to start planting. All my illustrations are fun to look at, relatable and carry a message,” she says. About the impact the series has had, she says she’s been able to reach a wider audience each day with her friends taking up planting and gifting plants to others. Apart from the Berlin Art Exhibition, this young designer has also participated in the U.S. and Portland.

‘Of Women’ hosted by Rockaway Artist Alliance in New York, the exhibition highlighted woman empowerment and sisterhood. Sindhu also participated in ‘Taking Pictures 2018’ hosted by Black Box Gallery in Portland, where, a black and white portrait she clicked was on display.

“My goal is to continue doing what I’m doing right now and reach a wider audience each day. I also wish to educate young people about the importance of Design and Design Thinking.”
