Light showers give a pleasant end to Eid weekend for Hyderabad people

Capping off the Eid weekend, light showers brought cheer to the city on Sunday evening. Although the temperatures came down a little in the evening, maximum temperature was still at 36.3 degree Celsius, 2.6 degree above normal.

HYDERABAD: Capping off the Eid weekend, light showers brought cheer to the city on Sunday evening. Although the temperatures came down a little in the evening, maximum temperature was still at 36.3 degree Celsius, 2.6 degree above normal.

Light rainfall was recorded in Madhapur, Srinagar colony, Ameerpet, Begumpet, Khairatabad, Jubilee Hills, Secunderabad, Musheerabad, Amberpet and Asifabad, as per TSDPS data.

Maximum temperature in Hyderabad is expected to remain between 35.1-37 degree Celsius for the next two days. But, IMD has predicted thunderstorms to occur in isolated places in all districts of Telangana.  
Across the state, maximum temperatures remained above normal by 1-4 degree Celsius. Highest temperature was recorded at Khammam at 39.2 degree Celsius, followed by 39 degree Celsius at Bhadrachalam.

Only a handful of places in the state received light rains on Sunday, with the highest rainfall recorded just at 5 millimeters at Domakonda in Kamareddy.

Although the southwest monsoon had reached Telangana earlier than usual this year, on June 8, rainfall has been scanty in the last few days. IMD had informed that the monsoon will remain subdued in the State till June 28.
