HYDERABAD: A delegation from Federation of North Eastern Colonies of Secunderabad (FNECS) on Sunday met Malkajgiri Lok Sabha Member Ch Malla Reddy and appealed to ensure the opening of remaining 14 roads which were still closed despite orders from Ministry of Defence.

They also demanded that walls at Lakdawala, Ammuguda and RK Puram flyover be removed.
Malla Reddy is understood to have assured the residents that he would take all steps to ensure the roads are opened. Of the 25 roads that were closed in the area, the Local Military Authority (LMA) has opened only 11.

The representation submitted to the Parliamentarian claims that nearly one-sixth of the city’s population was adversely affected by the closure of roads.

“The LMA should give us clarity on the action they intend to take in response to Defence Ministry’s orders. We demand all restrictions be removed by the LMA and all roads be opened to public,” said S Chandrasekhar, spokesperson of Federation of North Eastern Colonies of Secunderabad.
