Actress rescued from sex racket

In a high-profile prostitution ring bust, a 22-year-old Telugu TV artiste was rescued and two men, including a city-based businessman, were arrested at Madhapur on Tuesday evening. Based on a tip-off, police arrested businessman Sajjan Kumar Goenka, managing director of Jai Raj Ispat Limited, and another Venkataramana, an accomplice of the ring’s organiser, from Fortune Towers, Madhapur.

The organiser, Madan, who hails from Visakhapatnam, however managed to escape. According to ADC K Govardhan Reddy, SOT, the actress, who acted in Telugu TV serials like Laya and Hima Bindu, had arranged to meet Goenka in room no. 201 of Fortune Towers. The organiser reportedly charged Goenka one lakh rupees per hour. The raid took place at around 6.30 pm. A case was filed under the PITA  Act.
