VRO, VRA Application Fee Reduced

In a major relief to unemployed youth, the state government on Tuesday reduced the application fee for Village revenue officers (VRO) and village revenue assistants (VRA) exams. The application fee for OCs and BCs was reduced to Rs 300 from Rs 500 and that of SCs and STs was reduced to Rs 150 from Rs 300. There is no application fee for physically handicapped candidates.

Revenue minister N Raghuveera Reddy disclosed these details to newsmen at the Secretariat here on Tuesday. He said that the decision was taken following several requests from the youth to reduce the application fee.

The respective district collectors will simultaneously issue notifications for filling around 6,000 VRA and VRO posts across the state on December 28.

Meanwhile, Raghuveera Reddy said that the seventh and final phase of land distribution scheme would be completed before January 3. All the ministers and district collectors were asked to complete the distribution of 1.25 lakh acres of land to the landless poor before January 3, as they would become busy for the Assembly session. All the landless poor would be given possession certificates before Jan 3, Raguveera said.

He thanked the people for successful completion of Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy’s centenary celebration. The celebrations commenced on May 19 and concluded on Monday. Raghuveera Reddy was the centenary celebrations committee chairman.
