A workshop on haemodynamics was held at the IMA House here on Saturday. The workshop was inaugurated by cardiologist Dr Jose Chacko Periyapuram. Specialists Dr Murali Chakravarthy, Dr Dhroop Kumar (Bangalore) Dr P B Gopal (Hyderabad), Dr K Vinodan, Dr Suresh G Nair (Ernakulam) gave leadership to the workshop.

Haemodynamics, meaning literally ‘blood movement’, is the study of blood flow. The workshop organised sessions on novel methods which would help doctors to control haemodynamics.

The workshop helped doctors update their knowledge online on haemodynamics. A surgery was conducted on a pig heart at a specially created lab.

Dr Prasad K, Dr Job Wilson, Dr Sajeev Thambi, Dr Bhaskar Ranganathan and Dr Thomas Stephan led the workshop.

Lisie Hospital director Fr Paul Moonjely presided over the function. The valedictory function was inaugurated by Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan.
