The new team of Amma-Kerala Strikers for Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) Season 3 was announced here on Monday. Mohanlal will lead the team. Indrjith was selected as the vice- captain, team manager Edavela Babu said. The new members of the team are Arjun (Casanova, Grand Master, 8.20), Arun Benny (Nikko Nache), Madan Mohan (Rangras, Nakhangal), Santhosh Sleeba (Grand Master, Karma Yodha, Nikko Nache, Nakhangal), Ragendu (August Club, Nakhangal), Suresh (Ninnishtam Ennishtam, Sevens, Anubhuthi, Kerala Cafe), Shafeeq Rahman (Koratti Pattanam Railway Gate, Cinema Company) and Rahul Madhav (Vadamalli, Bangkok Summer)
Rajeev Pillai, Nivin Poli, Vivek Gopan, Manikuttan, Bineesh Kodiyeri, Saiju Kurup, Prajod Kalabhavan, Riyas Khan and Vinu Mohan are the other members. Mamta Mohandas and Bhavna are the team ambassadors. Coach Chandrasenan, assistant coach Sunil, Dr Madhu Thottappilli and physiotherapist Dileep Singh will also work for the team. The inaugural match will be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kaloor, on February 9.
Prominent film personalities, including Bollywood actor Salman Khan will take part in the event. In the inaugural match Amma-Kerala Strikers will meet Mumbai Heroes. The matches will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays. The finals will be held in Bangalore on March 10.
Babu said that Amma-Kerala Strikers will also participate in the curtain show of CCL season 3 to be held on January 19. He said that twenty per cent of the revenue from the match will be given to Amma and five per cent will be given to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. “The team owners Mohanlal, Lissy Priyadarshan and P M Shaji handed over a cheque for `5 lakh to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on December 7 in Thiruvananthapuram.
