Onam rebate sales of Co-optex (Tamil Nadu Handloom Weavers’ Cooperative Society Limited) was launched at the zonal Silk Palace at NJK Thrupthi Buildings here on Wednesday.
Deputy Mayor B Bhadra handed over handloom material to Tanuja S Bhattathiri, service coordinator, administration, Medical Trust Hospital, marking the launch of the sales.The fully air-conditioned showroom, Co-Optex Zonal Silk Palace, offers Kancheepuram silk sarees, printed silk sarees, soft silk sarees, summer cotton sarees, Pavithra silk sarees and set sarees on government rebate.
Bedsheets, dhothis, cotton shirts and churidar sets will also be available on 20 per cent to 40 per cent discount rates. Government, school and bank employees can purchase dress materials on a six-month instalment basis.
