FedBank on Hiring, Expansion Spree

Kerala-based Federal Bank is planning to recruit about 3,000 employees and add 300 branches in the next three years, the bank authorities said in Kochi on Saturday. Speaking at a press conference after releasing the quarterly results, Federal Bank managing director Shyam Srinivasan said the bank could perform well during the last quarter, even though the economic situation was adverse.
“The bank has 10,126 employees on its rolls. During the last three years, we recruited 3,000 employees,” said Federal Bank human resource head Thampy Kurian, who was also present at the press conference.
Shyam Srinivasan said the Federal Bank is allowing its customers unlimited usage of ATMs, though the maintenance costs are going up. “We are reviewing the cost,” he said.“We have so so far launched 26 technology products for our customers. Within two weeks, a new product, which would enable easy cash transactions between customers and merchant establishments, would be launched,” he said.He said the recently-launched technology product, ‘Fed book’, which enables a customer view transactions done over several years, has been a big hit .
