Scriptwriter Hashir Files Bail Petition

Scriptwriter Hashir Muhammad, who has been arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a woman, filed his bail petition before the Ernakulam District and Principal Sessions Court on Monday.

Hashir Muhammad, 29, of Valiyakandathil House, Malappuram, submitted in his bail petition that the allegations raised against him were false. Hashir submitted in petition that he is an unmarried engineering graduate and a scriptwriter.

He started residing at the present apartment in Thaikoodam two weeks ago. He has no criminal antecedents and does not have the physical strength to commit the offence alleged against him.  “The totality of circumstances would convincingly establish a reasonable suspicion in the prosecution case,” he submitted. Hashir said that he was implicated only on the basis of false information. He said that police have not applied for his custody and investigation in the case is almost complete. Hashir submitted that he is ready to comply all the conditions given by the court, if granted bail.

He is ready to furnish solvent sureties for the bail. He would cooperate with investigation and will not abscond, if released. Hashir Muhammad, scriptwriter of the film ‘Neelaakasham Pachakadal Chuvannabhoomi’, was arrested for allegedly molesting a 33-year-old housewife in an apartment at Thaikoodam. The accused attacked the lady when she resisted him. Hearing her cry, a neighbour came and caught him. He was later handed over to the police, which found that he was under the influence of drugs.
