KOCHI: The outpatient (OP) departments of the Rajagiri Hospital, which is coming up at Chunangamveli in Aluva, will be inaugurated on Monday. Once completed, the hospital will have OP departments in general medicine; pediatrics; obstetrics, gynaecology and reproductive medicine; neurology; nephrology; urology; cardiology; cardiac surgery; nutrition; orthopaedics and sports medicine; neuro-surgery and gastroenterology.
Services of Dr Shiv K Nair (cardiac surgery), Dr Ramdas Naik (cardiology), Dr Sanjay Bhatt (urology), Dr V P Paily (obstetrics, gynaecology and reproductive medicine) and Dr Jacob Chacko (neurology) will be available for consultation.
The proposed 1,200-bed healthcare facility will have a medical college, a college of nursing, an institute of paramedical sciences, a rehabilitation centre and a senior citizens’ village, in addition to the 550-bed multi-specialty tertiary care hospital. The state-of-art tertiary care hospital offers all modern medical services under one roof.
The core facilities at the hospital include spinal surgery; hepatobiliary; pancreato (Gl) surgery; plastics-microvascular and cosmetic surgery; pediatric surgery; endocrinology; hematology; rheumatology; general medicine; adolescent medicine; dermatology; thoracic surgery; ENT; physical medicine; gerontology; dental surgery with specialties; ophthalmology and interventional radiology. All the departments will be ably supported by a full-fledged radiology department, with 128-slice CT scan; 3.0-tesla MRI unit; digital fluoroscopy and radiographic units; mammography; bone densitometry; OPG; high-end colour doppler ultrasound scanner with endovascular surgery; TV and TEE imaging and digital catheterisation laboratories.
