It's Movie Time at Gold Souk Mall in December

KOCHI: Its happy film watching for the movie buffs of the city. Also, the big budget films can take a much needed break as the city is going to host a short film festival in December.

The ‘Kochi Metro Malayalam Short Film Fest’ will feature over 300 Malayalam short films at Gold Souk Mall in December. The event will run for five days and will feature films in both general and competition section. According to the organisers, the festival will be something much more than a mega or short film fest. It will provide youngsters with an opportunity to learn more about cinema.

“The fest will provide them with opportunities and guidelines for their development. The festival will organise interviews with working industry professionals, live Q&A sessions with directors and producers as well as workshops and seminars,” said actor Ravindhar, who heads monsoon cine fest, the organising firm behind the fest.  A galaxy of script writers, film directors, actors will also attend the fest, said Ravindhar. It will also introduce participants to newest film technologies like big screen video wall projection and walk-through video projection, he added.

Apart from screens in the four rows of the mall, there will be screening in the verandas of each floor too. The organisers will also honour women filmmakers in the industry.
