KOCHI:Noted High Court Lawyer Basil Attipetty, who made several interventions in human rights issues by filing Public Interest Litigations, died here on Tuesday following a cardiac arrest.
Basil, 56, was suffering from respiratory problems and was hospitalised on Saturday morning. His condition worsened on Tuesday early morning and he suffered a cardiac arrest around 11:00 am. He breathed his last at 12 noon.
Basil is survived by wife Rosy Arackal and daughter Glitty, an MSc Nursing student at Lourdes College Of Nursing. The funeral will be held at St George Church, Vadel, Nayarambalam, at 3:00 pm on Wednesday.
Basil, who made a crucial intervention in the stray dog menace, passed away a day before the court was to pass judgment in the case, on Wednesday.
