Startup Conclave Hogs Limelight

KOCHI: The Startup conclave, the first of its kind in Kerala is held to help startups to stay updated with the industry trends and connect to business leaders who can mentor them, hogged limelight at the TiE conference here.

Startup Pavilion offered Free Stalls to select startups from all incubators and accelerators across Kerala and various Industrial Parks to display their idea, products and processes. These startups get opportunities to connect to Angels, VCs, Mentors and Growth Coaches who interact with them, evaluate their products and processes and also offer mentorship, said A V George, president, TiE Kerala.

The Awards

Start Up Entrepreneur of the year : Harsha Thachery, MD, Masala Box

Emerging Entrepreneur of the year : Narayanan Unni, NAVARA Eco Farm

Woman Entrepreneur of the year : Shalini James, Mantra

Entrepreneur of the year : Dr M I Sahadulla, Chairman and MD, Kims Hospitals

The first day saw a series of one-on-one sessions and Pitch festival, Idea Cauldron, Seek a Mentor and Growth Coaches sessions providing the delegates with opportunities to meet and interact with investors, mentors and leaders. TiEcon Kerala 2015 Annual Awards in four categories were presented. Categories for the awards were Entrepreneur of the year, Emerging Entrepreneur of the year, Start-up Entrepreneur of the year and Woman Entrepreneur of the year.
