KOCHI: The World Diabetes Day was observed under the aegis of Lourdes Hospital here, with various programmes. The programme was inaugurated by High Court Judge Justice A Mohammed Mushtaq.
On the occasion, Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) general manager M D Varghese announced a project entitled ‘Madhuram’, envisaged by Lourdes along with the CSL to distribute free insulin to diabetes patients in the district. The function was presided over by Lourdes associate director Shaiju Thoppil. An awareness programme, photo exhibition on dieting, a session on exercise and pedicure and a medical camp were held as part of the programme, which was attended by around 500 persons.
