More State IT Firms to Set up Offices in Oceania Region

KOCHI: Two more Kerala-based medium-sized Information Technology (IT) companies have opened offices in the Oceania countries with plans to expand business in the region.

Experion Technologies and PITS Solutions, both based in Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram, have set up business offices in New Zealand and Australia respectively, following their visit there as part of the Kerala IT delegation.

“Collaboration is the way forward as technologies keep evolving faster than ever before. Companies can use technology developed elsewhere to augment their products and solutions, instead of reinventing the wheel. This is possible only if there is knowledge-sharing and collaboration between companies. Global IT Connect envisages accomplishing this objective,” said P H Kurian, Principal Secretary, Industries and IT, Government of Kerala who led the delegation.

The delegation, comprising chief experience officers (CXO) of 14 IT organisations from the state, was organised as a part of Global IT Connect, the flagship programme of the Government of Kerala and Group of Technology Companies (GTech), the industry body of IT and ITeS companies in the state which promotes technology and business collaboration between the IT companies here and their counterparts in various geographies.

“All of us run global companies with clients in different parts of the globe. However, only partnerships can take us to markets in the more distant geographies. Likewise, collaboration helps the companies in those regions get an entry into the markets we operate in, so long as we do not work on competing technologies”, said Binu Jacob, convenor of the Business Focus Group of GTech.

The delegation held business meetings in Sydney, Melbourne (both Australia), Auckland, Christchurch (both New Zealand) and Singapore during the two-week visit.
