KOCHI: The Indian Super League is all set to roll in to its second season. The beginning of the ticket sale for Kerala Blasters’ home matches on Thursday marked the occasion.

In a function held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Excise minister K Babu inaugurated the online and offline ticket sales. Kerala Blasters will play their first match against North East United FC on October 6. The match will start at 7 pm.

Tickets can be booked online through www.bookmyshow.com. The offline tickets will be available at all the Muthoot Fincorp branches and selected branches of Federal Bank at Kochi, Thrissur, Kozhikkode and Malappuram from Saturday.

Details of Muthoot Fincorp and Federal Bank branches will be available on the Keala Blasters’ website and Facebook pages. The fans can also book tickets from any Muthoot Fincorp outlets across Kerala and they can be redeemed for actual tickets at the POS outlets. Meanwhile, the stadium box office sales will be open from Friday and the ticket rates remain unchanged from the first edition. For the gallery tickets (without chair) the rate will be Rs 100, while the price for behind the post (with Chairs) seats is fixed at Rs 300 and Rs 500 will be charged for the vantage view.

However, corporate organisations would not be able to block the air-conditioned corporate boxes this year. Last year, the corporates were allowed to book the boxes at Rs l lakh.

The VVIP ticket, which were sold for Rs 3500 last year, too will not be available in this edition.

“The aim of our pricing is to ensure that more football fans can participate in and enjoy our home games. Almost 65 percent of the stadium’s total capacity of 60,500 will be sold for Rs 100. We believe that fair pricing of tickets will allow people to be touched by football,” said Viren D’silva, CEO of Kerala Blasters.

The function was presided over by Benny Behnan MLA. Kerala Football Association president KMI Mather, Ludy Luiz MLA were also present.
