FACT reinstates 4 officers involved in graft case

Nearly 10 months after the CBI unearthed massive corruption in Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) over the sale of gypsum to private companies, four officers involved in the case have been reinstated by the management.

KOCHI: Nearly 10 months after the CBI unearthed massive corruption in Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) over the sale of gypsum to private companies, four officers involved in the case have been reinstated by the management. The official spokesman of FACT told Express the suspended officers were reinstated based on the decision of the management.


They include, chief general managers (CGM) I S Ambika, Srinath Kammath, Panchanan Poddar and Deputy General Manager (DGM) Daniel Madhukar. The accused are still facing investigation as the national agency is yet to complete the probe. Company authorities said Ambika was reinstated as CGM Training, while Srinath was taken back as CGM Internal Auditing. Poddar has been appointed CGM with the technical wing and Madhukar has been reinstated as DGM of Research and Development Wing. 


The CBI had registered a separate case against Srinath for amassing wealth disproportionate to his known source of income. “The four officers took charge on Thursday. The decision in this regard was made by the management,” said the FACT spokesperson.The agency had registered a case against eight persons over the sale of gypsum from FACT.
