Complaints galore at youth commission adalat

An adalat organised by the Kerala State Youth Commission has received as many as 10 complaints regarding exploitation at workplace in Ernakulam district.

KOCHI: An adalat organised by the Kerala State Youth Commission has received as many as 10 complaints regarding exploitation at workplace in Ernakulam district. The complaints included nonpayment of wages to the workers and those related to the time schedules at workplaces.  The commission has decided to seek reports from the authorities concerned and visit the workplaces where exploitation is reportedly taking place, if warranted, saidState Youth Commission chairperson Chintha Jerome. 

According to one of the complaints, there has been discrimination in distribution of wages for the same job at the Cochin Port Trust. The Commission has received plaints regarding loss of academic days at Maharaja’s College due to the students’ strike.
