A two day seminar on topic ‘Molecular Machines’ will be held at Maharaja’s college on February 2 and 3.

KOCHI: A two day seminar on topic ‘Molecular Machines’ will be held at Maharaja’s college on February 2 and 3. It is organised jointly by Indian Academy of Science, Bengaluru, Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi and National Academy of Science India, Allahabad and Maharaja’s college.
The seminar will be inaugurated by K L Sebastian, professor at the Department of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru.

In a statement issued here organisers said the seminar will be held based on the topic ‘Molecular Machines’ which bagged the 2016 Nobel prize in Chemistry. The development of molecular machines is seen as a major breakthrough and it is expected to create a revolution in the field of medicine and technology sectors.

Gopinathan M S, professor at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram, Ayan Datta of Indian Association of Cultivation of Science, Kolkata and C H Suresh of National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram will lead various sessions. Teachers and students from various colleges are expected to attend the seminar.
