WMF-Sweden to be launched tomorrow

The World Malayalee Federation (WMF) will launch its Sweden chapter in Stockholm on Saturday, in association with the Swedish Kerala Association (SKA).

KOCHI: The World Malayalee Federation (WMF) will launch its Sweden chapter in Stockholm on Saturday, in association with the Swedish Kerala Association (SKA).

The WMF, a non-profit and democratic organisation envisaged to connect Malayalees across the world, was founded by a group of eminent Malayalees led by Prince Pallikunnel in September 2016.
Activities of the WMF in Sweden will be coordinated by Arun Mohan, a prominent personality amongst Malayalees in Sweden. The launch of the Swedish chapter assumes insignificance in the wake of the Brexit and the modified H1B visa regulations in the US.

“Sweden has become a hotspot for Indians aspiring to work abroad. The population of Malayalees in Sweden increased manifold, due to the superior work culture and high-quality education,” said an official release.
“Sweden - the Land of Nobel Prizes, welcomes the WMF with utmost honour, willing to imbibe its principles and add value to its noble initiatives. Networking, charity and facilitating easy life for incoming and existing Malayali residents will be the prime focus of WMF-Sverig,” said the statement.

“The Swedish chapter of the WMT will promote the culture and heritage of Kerala among the locals. We have noticed Swedes have begun taking interest in our art forms and cuisine. This is the ideal moment to snatch the opportunity, so that metamorphosis of the organisation would be stable,” it said.
