A successful month for startups in iB schools

KOCHI: The iB Hubs Startup School, a successful four week acceleration program for early stage student startups, has come to a close. Under the patronage of Startup India, the initiative garnered attention from entrepreneurial ecosystem from across the country.“This initiative is focused towards instilling entrepreneurial mindset among youngsters and build role models for society. They will act as change agents in their own colleges and communities, thereby taking the culture of entrepreneurship forward,” says Radha Alekhya, CEO of iB Hubs.


Receiving over 550 applications from 23 states and more than 160 educational institutions, the program captured the diversity of the Indian entrepreneurial ecosystem. It benefited 70 entrepreneurs of 40 selected student startups. The startups selected for the program were working in fields ranging from advanced technologies like IoT, Virtual Reality, to fundamental problems in the society like waste management, malnutrition etc.

With the guidance of more than 20 industry stalwarts like Ashok Soota (Executive Chairman of Happiest Minds Technologies), Ankur Warikoo (Founder and CEO, Nearbuy.com), Balaji Vishwanathan (Founder of Invento) and many more, startups accelerated towards their goals.The program ended with lots of learnings, experiments, one on one mentoring, expert talks and and finally, loads of emotions. 
iB Hubs also has diverse programs encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship among youth. 
They provide end-to-end assistance to startups in their incubation, acceleration and venturing phases.
