Pulsar Suni’s former counsel agrees to appear before cops for quizzing

Pradeesh Chacko, the former counsel of Pulsar Suni, told the Kerala High Court he will appear before the police for the interrogation on Thursday at 11 am.

KOCHI: Pradeesh Chacko, the former counsel of Pulsar Suni, told the Kerala High Court he will appear before the police for the interrogation on Thursday at 11 am. Recording his submission, the court disposed of his anticipatory bail plea.  The court had observed Chacko’s plea was irrelevant as the examination of material produced by the prosecution suggested the offence against him was bailable. The prosecution, however, said if enough evidence was gathered to constitute a non-bailable offence, the arrest will be made.

Meanwhile, the second teaser of Dileep’s upcoming movie ‘Ramleela’ was released on Wednesday.  The teaser has gone viral in the social media. “It looks like it is pre-determined that I am the culprit,” says Dileep’s character. Actor Mukesh’s character, in the opening shot, also says “It is evidence which decides who is the real culprit”.

‘Cops trying to fabricate evidence’
Kochi:
A S Sunilraj aka Appunni, the manager and driver of actor Dileep, submitted before the Kerala High Court on Wednesday the police was trying to ‘fabricate’ evidence by making director Nadirsha and himself as approvers in the actress abduction and assault case. In the anticipatory bail petition filed through his counsel, the absconding 27-year-old said there was no evidence to implicate Dileep, who is currently in judicial custody, in the crime. In his petition, Appunni said he may be falsely implicated in the case and feared arrest and intimidation. He said he may even be subjected to third-degree torture if arrested. The SIT did not find anything against him in their earlier questioning, he said.

Fresh case registered
The Ernakulam Central Police registered a fresh case on the complaint of producer Johny Sagarika related to Suni’s abduction bid in 2011. The cops said on January 5, 2011, Suni picked the actor - who was in Kochi for the shooting of a film being produced by her husband - in a car from the Ernakulam South railway station at 10.30 pm.

Another accused, who introduced himself as a representative of the hotel in Kumbalam where she was to stay, approached her and led her to the vehicle driven by Suni saying it had been arranged to take her to the hotel. He also took her luggage with him. On the way, Suni changed the route to the hotel. Suspicious over the deviation, the actor telephoned her husband and informed him of the matter. A panicked Suni then dropped her off at the hotel and fled. Suni, who was lodged in the Kakkanad District Jail, was arrested for the abduction bid the other day.

2011 abduction bid: Judicial Magistrate Court grants police Pulsar Suni’s custody till Monday

Kochi: The Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Wednesday sent Pulsar Suni, the key accused in the actor assault case, to police custody for five days for allegedly attempting to abduct an actor in 2011. Though the cops had requested eight days’ custody for interrogating Suni and gathering evidence, the court granted police his custody till 4 pm on July 24. The police told the court a detailed questioning of Suni was required. “The accused will be taken to Chavakkad, Kannur and Thiruvananthapuram. He will also be taken to Tamil Nadu where the tempo traveller used to commit the crime this year was ferried to,” the cops told the court.
