Training held for collectorate employees in Kochi

To attain the first total e-district tag, a training programme for the collectorate staff was organised at the office of Tata Consultancy Services at Infopark here on Sunday.

KOCHI: To attain the first total e-district tag, a training programme for the collectorate staff was organised at the office of Tata Consultancy Services at Infopark here on Sunday. Revenue Minister E Chandrasekharan inaugurated the programme, titled ‘Virtual IT Cadre: Skill development.’

District Collector K Mohammed Y Safirulla presided over the event and said the skills of the staff in the district administration had to be honed to make total e-governance a reality in the district.The training programme aimed at introducing the district administration staff to the new developments in IT field. The staff who successfully complete training will be inducted into the IT-based services provided by the ‘e-district’, ‘e-office’, ‘online pokkuvaravu’ and ‘e-treasury’ projects.

The programme’s syllabus envisages developing soft skills and imparting training on cyber security, robotics and software development, project management, operating system and internet.

Additional District Magistrate M P Jose, TCS vice-president Dinesh P Thampi, head (Talent Development) Reeja George and others took part in the programme.
