Cochin Port Trust in clean-up mode supervised by chairman

The cleaning drive by the Traffic Department

KOCHI: Swachhta Pakhwada, the clean-up drive launched by the Cochin Port Trust, is progressing with active participation of the seven departments of the port and traders/residents of Willingdon Island.

“In the first five days of the drive, the Civil Engineering Department cleaned the road in front of the container lorry parking yard near BOT bridge, C-Bunk road at South End and the road connecting the old national highway and NH-49,” stated an official release.

Employees of the Medical, Marine, Finance and General Administration departments cleaned their office premises, container freight station and the Q7 Ramp area. The Mechanical Engineering department de-cluttered the electricity substations, auto section and the Ernakulam Wharf.

The activities are being supervised by Port Trust chairman A V Ramana and secretary Gowri S Nair.
