KOCHI:  KSU state president K M Abhijith on Monday said the Chief Minister’s statement in the state Assembly, in which he termed the arms seized from the Maharaja’s College hostel here construction equipment, had given the SFI the carte blanche to indulge in wanton violence. 

“The Chief Minister has called upon the SFI activists to unleash violence. The latest instance of this happened in Kottayam where the SFI district secretary was allegedly involved in the attack on a house. The SFI has been attempting to dent the image of Maharaja’s,” he told reporters here.

According to Abhijith, the KSU will stage a protest meeting on May 18 which will be attended by several Maharaja’s College alumni and cultural leaders. Further, he said the NEET Board will be urged to withdraw the dress code for the candidates. 

“The KSU will write to the NEET Board demanding the withdrawal of the dress code for the candidates. The recent body checks have greatly upset the students, resulting in a lot of mental trauma,” he said.
