Four get bail in Kerala loan fraud case

THE CBI Court on Tuesday granted bail to four persons, including two officers of SBI, who were arrested for irregularities in sanctioning of loan to a Vadanapilly native in 2015.

KOCHI: THE CBI Court on Tuesday granted bail to four persons, including two officers of SBI, who were arrested for irregularities in sanctioning of loan to a Vadanapilly native in 2015.

The court granted bail to Sanoj P Vincent, valuator of property for SBI, Kunnamkulam branch; Radhakrishnan Nair, AGM, who was working with the SBI Thrissur Regional Branch and now serving at SBI in Navi Mumbai; Apu Jose Mathew, Relationship Manager, Thrissur; and Vinod Damodaran, a management consultant. The court ordered the accused to execute a bond of `1 lakh and two solvent sureties each.

Also, attempt should not be made to influence the witnesses in the case, the court said. Thomas Abraham Nilackappilli appeared for the accused.

The case
Last week, the CBI had arrested four persons in connection with a case registered against M M Shoukat Ali of Vadanapilly. He had pledged his 18.12 ares of land with the SBI for availing of asset-backed loan. The valuators in their report hiked the value of the land threefold. The fraud was revealed during the asset revaluation.
