Hotelier murder accused taken to crime scene in Kochi

The youth, who was arrested for the murder of a hotel owner at Vyttila here the other day, was taken to the crime scene on Friday as part of gathering evidence.

KOCHI: The youth, who was arrested for the murder of a hotel owner at Vyttila here the other day, was taken to the crime scene on Friday as part of gathering evidence. P S Ratheesh  of Puliyanmala, Idukki was later produced before the magistrate and remanded in judicial custody. 

The police will be seeking his custody soon for detailed interrogation. A team led by Ernakulam South CI Siby Tom took Ratheesh to Vyttila where he allegedly stabbed hotel owner Johnson. Police, however, are yet to recover the murder weapon. 

According to the officers, after committing the murder, the accused took a bus to Idukki. On reaching home, Ratheesh’s relatives said the police had come in search of him. This forced him to turn himself in before  the Kattappana police.

Ratheesh, a truck driver, used to transport waste from residences. He is an accused in a robbery case registered at the Pampa police station.
