The NIA Court has cancelled the bail granted to Bihar native,Yasmin Ahmed, accused in the case related to the so-called Islamic State(IS)organisation in Kasargod.

KOCHI: The NIA Court has cancelled the bail granted to Bihar native,Yasmin Ahmed, accused in the case related to the so-called Islamic State (IS) organisation in Kasargod. It followed the submission by the two persons, who stood as sureties for Yasmin, they were unwilling to remain so.

Following the petition filed by the Malayali duo stating their unwillingness to remain as sureties, the court had on Friday remanded Yasmin, who was present in the court, in judicial custody. Later, Yasmin was taken to the District Jail at Kakkanad.

According to the NIA officials, the sureties decided to withdraw fearing Yasmin might flee resulting in them facing legal action.

Yasmin had been granted bail by the Kerala High Court last month on the condition she must produce two solvent sureties. She was barred from travelling outside Ernakulam district without obtaining prior sanction from the court, besides being asked to surrender her passport.

Yasmin had been nabbed by a special team of the Kerala Police from New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International(IGI) Airport last year, barely moments before she was to set off for Kabul to join the Indians who had joined the IS ranks there.
