Government moves High Court against date extension

 The state government on Monday approached the Kerala High Court challenging the order of a Single Judge extending the last date for submitting application for Plus-One admission till June 5.

KOCHI: The state government on Monday approached the Kerala High Court challenging the order of a Single Judge extending the last date for submitting application for Plus-One admission till June 5.

The Single Judge had extended the date while considering the petition filed by St Mary’s English Medium School, Kodanchery, and MES Fathima Rahim Central School, Kaithapoyil.

The state government had earlier fixed May 22 as the last date for submitting application for Plus-One admission. However, the court extended the date in the wake of delay in announcement of CBSE class-X exam results.

In the appeal, the state submitted the number of CBSE students in the state is less when compared to state syllabus students. The admission procedures will be affected with the interim order of the High Court. This will also reduce the number of days in school calendar, the state submitted.
