The incident came to light after a video was released by the parents of the one-and-half-year-old child

KOCHI: The owner of a child day care centre was taken into custody here on Tuesday after allegations that a caretaker there physically tortured a toddler.

The incident came to light after the video of the incident was released by the parents of the one-and-half-year-old child. Based on this, police registered a case against Mini Mathew, 40, who runs 'Kali Veedu' day care centre. "A probe is on to identify the source of the video. The interrogation of the accused is underway", said Palarivattom SI Basil Thomas. However, the arrest has not been recorded so far.
