Two found dead in separate incidents

Two persons were found dead in separate incidents within the Kalamassery police station limit on Tuesday. 

KOCHI: Two persons were found dead in separate incidents within the Kalamassery police station limit on Tuesday. According to the police, Jolly alias Joseph, 53, a headload worker, was found hanging from a tree branch near Unichira Junction in the morning. The body was first spotted by the morning walkers, who alerted the police by 6 am. The preliminary investigation suggested it was a case of suicide.

In another incident, Palanichami, 55, a native of Oddanchatram, Dindigul, in Tamil Nadu, was found dead in the car porch of the house at South Kalamassery, where he was employed as a maid.The police said the deceased had been taking medicines for diabetes and blood pressure. “It is a suspected case of heart attack. However, the exact reason for the death is yet to be ascertained. He was also an alcoholic and had consumed alcohol on Monday night,” said an officer.

While the body of Joseph was handed over to relatives after conducting an autopsy, Palanichami’s body has been kept at the Kalamassery Medical College Hospital. “The body will be handed over to relatives once they reach here from Tamil Nadu,” the police said.
