KOCHI: An elephant that was brought for the festival at Sree Poornathrayesa temple, Tripunithura, ran amok on Thursday. The incident occurred around 9 am when the procession carrying the ‘kolam’ was in progress. Elephant Nandilath Gopalakrishnan ran amok creating panic in the area for around one hour. Though a large number of people followed the elephant, it did not attack anyone. The elephant was later chained by the chief mahout with the help of police and Fire and Rescue Services personnel.
