KOCHI: Kerala’s largest conference on entrepreneurship ‘TiEcon Kerala-2017’ will kick off in Kochi from November 10. Over 1,000 delegates are expected to participate in the sixth edition of the two-day event at the Le Meridian convention centre here.Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), a non-profit global organisation, is organising the event which focuses on fostering entrepreneurship and nurturing entrepreneurs through five core activities – mentoring, networking, education, incubating and funding – aka the ‘Five Pillars of TiE’.
“From basic objectives of building an entrepreneurial ecosystem for the state and encouraging entrepreneurship, TiE Kerala moves this year to the theme ‘Kerala-An entrepreneurial destination’,” Rajesh Nair, president, TiE Kerala told reporters. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is expected to address the eclectic gathering of entrepreneurs, investors, start-up companies and senior professionals from across India.
“Kerala is all set for some quantum entrepreneurial action for its transformation as the premium entrepreneurial destination. Perspectives and inputs provided by prominent speakers and industry experts from across the globe will be analysed through the lens of the unique features of our state to turn it into ‘entrepreneurs’ own country’,” Nair said. This year, TiE will also introduce innovative formats like the start-up café which will showcase startups outside the normal format of stalls. There will be a ‘Failure Lab’ where entrepreneurs will share their failures.
TiE will also provide a platform for startup products and services to be showcased and presented to the wider audience in a model based on ‘trade labs’.The conference is supported by the state Department of Industries and IT, Kerala Startup Mission and KSIDC (Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation).
TiE Kerala has launched the registration process of delegates through its website: www.tieconkerala.org. One can also contact 0484-4015752/0484-3248735 or email email@example.com.
