Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board clears Rs 63 crore road project

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Petta-Anayara-Venpalavattom road is all set to get a facelift. The Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) has issued its clearance for the Rs 63.48 crore road development project. Also, administrative sanction has been issued for Rs 4.7 crore project to upgrade the Chakka-Karikkakom road to international standards, said Tourism and Cooperation Minister Kadakampally Surendran.

In a statement issued here, the Minister said sanction has been issued for developing the Petta -Venpalavattom road in the Kazhakkoottam constituency. Of the total project cost, R43.48 crore would be earmarked for land acquisition for road development. The 3 km distance from Anayara to Venpalavattom will be widened to 14 m. The stretch from Venpalavattom to Oruvathilkotta will be 12-m wide.

The project is aimed at addressing the traffic congestion in the area and the total development of the region, said the Minister.
Special administrative sanction has been given to widen the Chakka-Karikkakom road. Special sanction has been given for this road project by including it in the budget share for the Works Department.
