KOCHI: Those residing outside their native state can now present their permanent address in their passport application at a Regional Passport Office (RPO) of choice. The Union Government has simplified the procedure for applying for passports which enables online and mobile application said Kochi Regional Passport officer Prasanth Chandran at a press conference on Thursday.
The applicant can choose the Regional Passport Office (RPO) of his choice and the desired Passport Seva Kendra under the RPO where they wish to submit their application, irrespective of the present residential address specified in the application form.
The application can be submitted using mPassportSeva app which can be downloaded from Google Play Store. The police verification, if required, would be conducted at the address specified in the application form. The passport will be delivered at the address given in the application.
