KOCHI: The Students Federation of India (SFI) and the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) will jointly organise ‘Hridhayapaksham’ in the campus, a 500-metre long march from the Maharaja’s College to Rajendra Maidan, on Wednesday. Noted painters will also take part in the march. Writer and critic M K Sanu will inaugurate the function, said SFI district secretary  Sachin Kuriakose, addressing a news conference here.

The SFI has declared they will extend their support to his family in the construction of his house and in conducting and meeting the expenses of the marriage of his sister. The State Committee will also raise funds from all the campuses in Ernakulam district from Wednesday onwards. “Abhimanyu has always worked to fulfill the dreams of others, he always dreamt of a home and a library at his place and we will fulfill his dream,” said Sachin.

“We will be building a library named ‘Abhimanyu Vayanashala’ with the coordination of Vattavada Grama Panchayat soon. We have received around 10,000 books from Sanskrit University and U C College so far,” he added.

The District Committee will also be conducting a dharna on July 18 at Maharaja’s College. “We will also be organising a 24-hour dharna with the participation of the students in the campus,” said Sachin.
Satisfied with the probe

On queries regarding the special team investigation on Abhimanyu’s murder, the SFI said it is fully satisfied with the probe. The SFI also refuted allegations there is dictatorship on the campus by its activists.

“There was a comment of KSU in the social media in connection with the football match held at the campus with the participation of the SFI members. The participation of Abhimanyu and other activists in the match itself is the evidence of the cordial relationship that exists among the parties in the campus,” he said.
