Avoid needless public discourse, AMMA tells members

Babu said three women members of AMMA - Revathy, Padmapriya and Parvathy - have sent a letter, as a group, calling for a discussion on the issues related to the reinstatement of Dileep.

KOCHI: As part of its effort to end the recent controversies surrounding the reinstating of actor Dileep to Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), the film body issued a circular to its members asking them to avoid unnecessary public statements. In a letter sent to members, AMMA general secretary Idavela Babu said Dileep sending a letter stating his unwillingness to return to AMMA until proved innocent, has rendered further proceedings on the issue irrelevant.

“If any member faces any issue in their working atmosphere or from any other member of AMMA or other film bodies, they can bring it to the notice of the executive committee through a letter, so that it can be solved through democratic discussions. Posting about the issue or about differences of opinions on social media before giving a chance to solve the issue will not do any good,” said the letter.

Babu said three women members of AMMA - Revathy, Padmapriya and Parvathy - have sent a letter, as a group, calling for a discussion on the issues related to the reinstatement of Dileep.  “They have been called for a meeting at next executive committee on August 7,” said Babu.
