KOCHI: With the FIFA World Cup around the corner, Sony India, the local arm of Japan’s leading consumer electronics maker, is looking forward at a 20 per cent growth in its overall sales across all its product categories this year. Meanwhile, the company also expect to achieve 50 per cent sales growth in the television category through selling 22,000 Bravia televisions in the state.

Satish Padmanabhan, Sales Head, announced the company’s sales target while launching the Sony’s latest Bravia OLED A8F in Kochi on Thursday. “As always Kerala is always a good marketing place for the Sony. Since the world cup and the Onam around the corner, the market will be good for the company. This football season we are aiming to achieve 50 per cent sales growth in television category from May-July period,” Satish told Express.

According to him, the new product is launched with perfectly synergised consumer offers. “At present, Kerala has a sales contribution of around 5 per cent. With this monsoon sale and Onam this will further up,” he said adding that Kerala has emerged as a good market for full frame cameras in the price range of C1 lakh to 3 lakh and is widely used for wedding, fashion and wildlife photography.
