KOCHI:The world is all set to welcome the football fest and there has been no limit to fans putting up big cutouts and boards of their favourite teams and players. Roads and city are all painted in colours of different teams. The renowned artist Thomas Antony too joined the club with his caricature exhibition on famous football players at Durbar Hall Art Gallery, here making a feast for all the game lovers.

The exhibition titled ‘Snehadaram’ showcased his abstract and thought-provoking artworks. Thomas’ paintings stood par with others. His works contained various realms of thoughts and meanings. The exhibition focused especially on FIFA World Cup 2018. He has given importance to the  football onlookers across the world.Caricatures of football players such as Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, Rooney and Maradona attracted the visitors. The artist’s works drew attention on people of various tastes. The Durbar Hall Art Gallery also portrayed Thomas Antony’s other prestigious works which were yet another attractive sight of the visitors. His works looked fun-filled and lively.

Thomas Antony, Kottayam based caricaturist cartoonist has received numerous honours such as World Press Cartoon Award 2018 and Kerala Lalithakala Cartoon Academy Award 2009. The function was organized by Lalithakala Academy, Ernakulam Press club, Kerala Media Academy. Thomas Antony was honoured for his recent win at World Press Caricature award 2018. The exhibition was inaugurated by renowned cartoonist Yesudasan. Various dignitaries such as Sri Nemom Pushparaj ( Kerala Lalithakala Academy Chairman), Sri Ponniam Chandran (Kerala Lalithakala Academy Secretary), Sri Dileep (Ernakulam Press Club President) and various other cartoonists such as Monayi, B.Sajeev, Unnikrishnan appreciated Thomas Mathew for his excellence during the inaugural function.
