KOCHI: The district administration has issued a notice to shut down a migrant labourer camp functioning in an unhygienic condition at Eloor. As per the direction from the District Collector, Tahsildar issued the order to close down the camp which was functioning without toilet facilities.
The camp was functioning on the premises of the house of Ayisha Kochunni.
“When we inspected the spot we came to know that as many as 30 workers were staying in small makeshift rooms. The space they were using is insufficient to accommodate even 10 people. Even the water they are using was very unhygenic. We also issued a direction to the house owner to demolish the camp with immediate effect,” said an officer.
