JD Fashion tide to sweep over city

 Young designers from the leading fashion Institute, JD Institute of Fashion Technology will feature 10 exceptional collections at a runway event in Hotel Crown Plaza on Saturday.

KOCHI: Young designers from the leading fashion Institute, JD Institute of Fashion Technology will feature 10 exceptional collections at a runway event in Hotel Crown Plaza on Saturday.The celebration of innovation and creativity with ‘Change’ as the central theme will start at the venue by 7 pm. Outlining the collections and concept of the Show at the Press meet, Sandra Sequeira, Operations Director South, JD Institute of Fashion Technology said that the Spring Summer Collections of 2018 ‘ Change’ is an emphasis on the mantra of Sustainability, Ethical Design and Innovation. “The collections by the upcoming talents of the future fashion industry will bring out the real strength and signature value of modern India,” she added.

Top models will showcase eighty outstanding creations in ten novel concepts, each underscoring that creativity cannot be used up, for there are budding designers who would bring yet another beautiful transformation.  Dalu Krishnadas, Celebrity Fashion Choreographer will coordinate the show.

The show will kick off with ‘Audo Qurhve’,  the Spring Summer 2018 ready to wear collection of ‘self-altering garments’ that fit multiple body sizes.  ‘Mellownes’ is a collection dedicated for breast cancer survivors. The collection not just helps to create an illusion of fullness around the bust area through advanced fabric techniques, the classy look achieved by the use of solid colour fabrics set them apart.

‘Amyrah’ aims at girls who are ready to experiment and looking out to spend less on wedding garments.  The collection “Actinovolia” is meant to protect the body from the non-ionising radiation caused by cell phones, wifi and towers.  Satvic Vastra in Kadhi and natural dyes, ‘About to fly’ inspired from Dupatta wearing styles, Gro-3 Unisex collection with screen printing techniques, ‘Techno Rover’ collection inspired by the life of a digital nomad, ‘Trash to Treasure’ collection of up-cycled clothes are the other concepts.

An exhibition featuring selected creative works of the departments of Interior design and decoration, based on ecological sustainability will also be held from 4 pm onwards. A special jury will choose the winners. The event will be attended by celebrities, renowned fashion consultants, Icons, designers, bloggers and other industry experts.

JD Institute along with its International collaborations and associations with London College of Fashion ( UAL, London ), KOEFIA ( Italy ), BOF has influenced and empowered more than twenty thousand students in the field of fashion and arts and has trained them in textile, interior, jewellery, fashion photography and makeup industry. Nealesh Dalal, the Managing Trustee of the JD Educational Trust and Dalu Krishnadas also attended the announcement press meet.
