Composers Confident of ‘Kamasutra 3D’ Bagging Oscar

Sreejith Edavana and Saachin Raj, who are in contention for the 86th Academy Awards, in the ‘Original Music Score and Original Song’ category, have expressed confidence about winning the coveted Oscar. The duo is in contention for their composition for Rupesh Paul’s ‘Kamasutra 3D’ which is also in the race for the ‘Best Motion Picture’.

Speaking to reporters at a function organised by the Non-resident Indian Producers; Association (NIRPA), Sreejith said that both of them are proud to represent Kerala at such a huge stage, “When we started working on the film, we never expected such success. However, with the support from Rupesh Paul and producer George john, we managed to score good music for the film,” he said. Saachin said that the duo composed 11 original tracks for ‘Kamasutra 3D’, of which five were selected. ‘Kamasutra 3D’ is the only movie from India in the race for the Oscars in the music category. The selected songs include ‘Aygiri Nandini’, ‘Saawariya’, ‘I Felt’, ‘Of Soil’ and ‘ Har Har Mahadev’.

Director Rupesh Paul also expressed happiness at his film being selected in various categories for the 86th Academy Awards.
