The Tripunithura Municipality has decided to bring the demand for KSRTC services connecting Fort Kochi and Choittanikkara to the  notice of the state government. The resolution was presented by councillor K B Venugopal at the council meet held last week and was approved with majority votes. According to him, the KSRTC buses from Fort Kochi currently reach Chottanikkara via Tripunithura town.

“The KSRTC must start services via SN Junction, Puthiya Road and  Karingachira (via Railway over-bridge near SN Junction) to reach Irumpanam and Chottanikkara. If a bus services is started through the new route, people can reach Chottanikkara without touching Tripunithura Town. This will be a huge relief to the passengers as it will save atleast 10 minutes,” he said.

Councillor V A Sasidharan said the municipality will move forward with the  demand and it will be informed to the Director Board of KSRTC, Transport Minister Aryadan Mohammed and Minister K Babu. “We demand atleast a couple of bus servicing through the proposed route. It   will also benefit the residents in Puthiya Road and students of Irumpanam Higher Secondary School,” he said.
